SERVANT LEADERS

I. DEACONS OF THE CHURCH

The Deacons are those men & women of the Church who help identify & tend to the physical, tangible, and practical needs of the Church family.

Biblically, the first appointment of Deacons is most discerned in the Physician Luke’s account of the history of the early Church in Acts Chapter 6, when seven men of good reputation, full of Holy Spirit & wisdom, were chosen to help address a problem concerning appropriate food distribution to widows in need, so that the Elders could continue to devote themselves to prayer & the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:1-7). Not only does this development of Deacons help the Elders focus on the spiritual direction of the Church, but it also helps prevent ongoing division within the unity of the Body of Christ.

When tending to the practical matters of the Church, Deacons act as the representative lead servants the entire congregation may look to for the example of Christ leading in humility, considering others’ needs before His own (Phil. 2:3-8). By serving as Christ served, Deacons oversee the ministries of the Church, support ministry leaders, and train up other servant leaders to become fellow lead servants of the Church.

II. MINISTRY LEADERS OF THE CHURCH

Ministry Leaders specifically lead individual ministries within the Church. Within their given ministries, they plan & coordinate all day-to-day and week-to-week plans for the Church family.

These ministry leaders lead The Garden Children’s Ministry, theGroup Youth Ministry, Prayer Ministry, The Band Worship Ministry, Restoration Ministry, Perspectives Creative Media Ministry, Eden Harbor Discipleship Ministry, Eden Harvest Evangelism Ministry, Servants Ministry, and Runner-Up Sports Ministry.

This ministry team is made up of those individuals who eventually become Deacons of the Church, and this group could be viewed as Deacons-in-Training.

III. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF

The Staff members serve the Church both in a spiritual & servant leadership capacity. Staff works towards & encourages a positive spiritual climate within the Church while carrying out the Church’s Mission as outlined in our Seven Visionary Values.

Currently, Eden Church has employed a full-time Lead Pastor, a part-time Church Administrator, and a part-time Church Coordinator.

IV. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board is a collection of Directors who share duties & responsibilities which serve the Church by assuring management policies & procedures are followed. In addition, they also approve decisions such as an annual budget and other major commitments.

Currently, Eden Church has four Board Members: the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & President, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Vice President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Treasurer, and the Secretary who keeps minutes.
